Happy Birthday Our Big 5 Year Old!

Nate is now in Preschool, I forgot to mention that in an earlier blog entry, partly due to the fact that I have been trying to catch up on blogging for forever. He started on the 13th of this month and is doing really well. He loves going and is making a lot of friends. His teacher, Miss Angela, said he was quiet the first week, but that he is talkative now and making a lot of friends and doing good. He goes for 4 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So in the morning he had gone to preschool, and he told me he had a good time. We went to the store to get him some cupcakes and some balloons.

We waited for Jared to get home from work and then Nate got to open his gifts and cards.

He got a lot of nice gifts and cards. After opening presents we had Nate's Birthday Dinner. He wanted pancakes, bacon, and oj. Then we did Birthday cake or I guess I should say cupcakes, I hate cake so my poor family has to deal with either brownies, cup cakes or store bought cake, they can have pie....I love pie. So Nate asked for cupcakes. Miley thought the cupcakes with the candles were very pretty.

Nate blew out all of his candles after a couple of tries.
He had a wonderful birthday, I can't believe my little boy is growing up so fast. He'll be in Kindergarten before we know it. Thank you all for your gifts, cards and birthday wishes.

Miley's Room is finally decorated.

1-26-2009
I finally got around to finishing Miley's room. We got it all decorated and all of her stuff hung up. It's so much fun to have a little girl so I can do some Girlly stuff. Nate and Miley helped me hang it all and to measure it all out. Nate tries really hard to help around the house and wants to be a part of everything. I painted all the wood decorations we got from Micheal's, and then drew and painted the painting in the middle. I wish I could do some cute window treatments, but that will come someday when we are in our own house.

She really likes her room.

Home Sweet Home

When we got home from our vacation we set up Nate's train set in our room and had it up for almost a week. We all had a good time playing with it, even Miley...she more or less attacked the trains as the went by her. We would have to distract her as they went by or pick them back up and put them on the tracks after she had ripped them off.

Nate got some Tinker Toys for Christmas from his Great Grandparents. You can build a helicopter of an airplane. Here is the helicopter form. It was fun building this with him.

Miley was having a good time too trying to help us build, or just banging parts together while singing.

Nate loves the movie Iron Giant...this it his Lego Iron Giant. He always takes his Lego's and builds them into what ever he is playing with or watching. He has quite an imagination.

Playing in the snow.

Saturday and Sunday

Nate convinced Mike to go out and play in the snow one more time before we left Utah.

The mostly just chased each other and threw snow.

They were cute together, and so Tough.

Reno learned a new thing too...that if he got up on the back of the couch, he could see everyone outside and bark at them.

Here is Miley getting ready to decorate the sugar cookies. Sydney makes the best sugar cookies. We munched on them during Christmas and the days following till they were all gone. So Sydney told Nate that when we got back to their house that he could help her make cookies and then decorate them with her. Grandpa had got some train cookie cutters, and Nate loves trains so he was so excited. So Saturday afternoon they made a bunch. Then that evening when it was time to decorate them he abandoned Sydney with them all. He had to go and watch Star Wars Clone Wars the movie for the hundredth time. So Miley and I helped Syd frost and put sprinkles on them. Well Miley played with the sprinkles shaking them and then eating small pieces of cookie here and there.
The Big news of the trip is Miley is now sitting up on her own. When we left the Deming's house last Sunday till Now she has learned to sit up on her own. It is so amazing how fast they learn and grow.

Sunday we went to church, we packed up, had dinner and then got on the road. The drive home went well and the roads where good, it was cold out though. We were worried because it had snowed on Saturday so we didn't know how the drive would be. We had such a great time with Mom, Dad, and Jared's siblings, and Dani. Thanks again guys. We love you all.

Deming vs Scott's

Friday continued...

Friday night the Scott's came over to hang out with us and to watch the Ute's play their Bow game.

The kids had a good time playing with each other and with all the women.

Miley and Sophy.

Jonny and Sophie.

Mom and Miley.

Sophie and Cami.

The Ute's ended up winning. It was fun to hear all the noise the men were making durring the game. They even scared the kids once in a while, when they yelled real loud excitedly.

It's always a blast to be around the Scott's.

More Fun at the Smarts.

Thursday

Julie, her girls, and Alyssa, and Dani came over to my mom's house to visit us again before we left back to SLC. It was good to visit with them again.

Alyssa, Dani, and Shanne.
Jared took a nap while they were there. We had stayed up till 4:30 am, playing Halo with Chris, and then of course had to wake up early because the kids got up.

Miley and Shanne.

Nate played with grandma's Monsters...

And I played with Sephy and gave her some loves...We had a great time. We left around noon. Thanks again guys.
