Silly Kids.

Miley loves her purse. We were getting ready for the day, and she saw me with my makeup bag, so she went and got her purse so she could get ready too.

Nate made our stairs into a slide using his blanket. Nate and Miley had a great time acting like they were sliding down them. They have such great imaginations.

More fun with Mom!

June 22nd
Monday we had fun with the kids reading stories to them and going to the library. They are on a summer reading program and for every 5 books they have read to them they get a prize out of a treasure chest at the Library. Well today they both got their first prize. Nate got some paint and Miley got a sippy cup. We also got in the pool one more time, and played some more on the Wii. Jared, Mom, and I watched Lars and the Real Girl once the kids where in bed. It is such a funny movie. Mom seemed to enjoy it.
June 23rd
Tuesday I really wanted to do something fun for mom to remember and the kids. So we decided to go to the Floyd Lamb State Park. I found out that it is only 2.6 miles from our home.
Once known as Tule Springs Ranch, Floyd Lamb State Park not only has picnic areas and scenic paths but also provides four stocked ponds where fishing is permitted with a Nevada Fishing License. The park encompasses 2,040 acres and houses volleyball and horseshoe facilities. The first use of this land was as a watering hole for both Native Americans and prospectors. In the 1930-40s, the Ranch was a popular place for movie stars and others who wanted to take advantage of Nevada's liberal divorce laws and six-month residency requirement. Now it is a place to play on grass and has pretty little ponds, horses, goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, and other animals to play with and enjoy.

We had a great time checking out the peacocks, this one was strutting his stuff...unfortunately for him the ladies were ignoring him.

They had some white peacocks too.

And lots of mothers with babies, they weren't scared of us at all either. They walked right up to me.

Miley was looking at all of the birds and pointing at them. She is so cute.

Here is Nate acting like a chicken. It was so cute.

Miley really liked the goats, she even had a horse that reached its head down till it was like a foot away from her face, unfortunately I couldn't get the camera on fast enough to get a picture.

A lady there, Belinda, was feeding the horses and she asked Nate if he wanted to help. He got to feed this horse, which is the one that was friendly and got real close to Miley.

He also got to go in with her and feed the goats, sheep and a bull (he was a baby). Nate had a good time. He hated the bugs that were all over, but he liked feeding the animal the bread Belinda was giving him.

Nate is such a city boy.

He had to have Grandma help him get stuff out of his shoes afterwards.

So we headed over to where they were feeding the other horses.

Look at all the bread they had to eat. Belinda said she had already feed them all hay earlier.

Nate wouldn't come in because there were flies everywhere. They were on the bread for the most part. But he didn't want them on him so this is as close as he would get.

I love horses. This one was so pretty.

Miley thought it was cool to be in with the horses and she got to pet one too.

Well Grandma payed for Nate to have a horse ride. This is the horse he got to be on, I was to lead it around the park for 20 min. Mom stayed with Miley, Thanks again Mom. Nate was a little skittish at first and I didn't know if he would like it or want to come back, but once he was up on the horse he was in heaven. He was saying giddy up, steady girl steady, ride um cowboy, and giving the horse loving pats from time to time.

Now the horse had other ideas and at first didn't want to go very far form its coral. The father we got the more stubborn it was. So I let Belinda have a chance to lead her. But once we got so she couldn't see her stall anymore she was a lot better.

When we got back 24 min later Miley had fallen asleep and so we said goodbye to the horse, and then headed for a picnic to eat lunch.

We ate for a while and Miley woke up.

After eating we strolled around looking at all of the ponds and ducks.

Nate was running from shady area to the next shady area. He liked the ducks too.

It was getting hot so we walked the rest of the way around to ponds and headed back to the car.

We had a lot of fun. We will defiantly come back again, Jared still needs to see it here. Mom played hide and seek with Nate that night. I'll have to share some of that video sometime it was so funny. Nate is the best hide and seeker in the world.

Wednesday 24th
Today we got ready to take mom to the airport. Our time with her was up :(. We had such a good time. Mom put Miley in a laundry basket and pushed her around. She loved it. She did get mad when grandma stopped. She demanded that Grandma do it over and over, till we put the basket away and shut it up in the laundry room.

We met Jared for lunch by his work at Burger King. The kids had a good time on the inside play area. Mom and Jared said goodbye and then we went over to the park that Jared and I meet at to eat lunch when we first moved to Vegas. While we were there it decided to blow in a storm and to start to rain so we headed to the airport. It was good that we did because traffic was horrible and it took us at least three times as long as it should have. But then come to find out after we said goodbye to Mom, she got delayed to leave due to the micro burst of rain that was happening. Crazy...no rain forever and then as soon as Mom was suppose to leave Wham! We had a wonderful time with you Mom, thanks again for coming and spending time with us.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day Sweetheart. You are the best Dad we could ask for. Thanks for all you do for us and for the example, friend, and man that you are. We hope you had a great Fathers Day. We love you so much. Love, Rena, Nate, and Miley.

Sunday morning when dad came downstairs the kids had some books to give their dad, thanks to grandma, about how wonderful dad's are. So after opening his gifts, Jared took the time to read the books with the kids and gave them loves...we then ate breakfast of blue berry muffins, eggs, bacon, and OJ for Jared's fathers day Breakfast. Church was good, one of us was most of the time in the hall with Miley, but what else to you expect from a 1 year old. Nate had a surprise for his dad, he actually was able to keep it a surprise too, there is a first for everything.

Nate made this cute card with a picture of him and his hands that covered it. It was supper cute, he has the best primary teachers.

Here is the other gift Nate had for his dad after church it is so cute, the bag had a bunch of chocolate treats with it too. The paper had My Dad's Favorite....
1. Color......Orange, of course.
2. Food......Mac & Cheese, Jared does like my home made kind.
3. Treat.....Cookies, True.
4. Song.......I am a Child of God, actually Nate's favorite.
5. Hobby....Play Star Wars, anything Star Wars Jared enjoys.
6. Book.......Star Wars, well if you saw our room you wouldn't argue that. Jared owns almost every Star Wars book there is for Adults....which is a ton.

Hanging out after church, waiting for dinner.

We, aka MOM, made sugar cookies on Saturday, so Sunday for fathers day we frosted them. They are the best sugar cookies I have ever had. We had a great time today with Jared. Thanks to our dad's to for being our dad's we love you all, and hope you had a great Father's Day. We love you all so much.

Mom comes out to Play! YEAH!

While mom was down here visiting us we had a lot of fun. We picked her up from the airport on Wednesday the 17th. It was my first time driving to the airport, thank goodness for our GPS. I found the airport but the departure area instead of where I needed to be so I had to go back around to the beginning, but unfortunately I took a wrong turn and ended out having to go a really long loop to get to mom. Then on the way back home I took several wrong turns. I really wanted mom to see all of Vegas, even several scary areas. She was a good sport and we finally got home an hour latter then we would have.
We played outside in our backyard after I made lunch of hot dogs and home made mac and cheese, So Good. we drew with sidewalk chalk. Nate and grandma made a bunch of spiders and leaves and I drew Spiderman. The weather was so nice too for us.
Grandma and Nate played on the Wii, bowling, boxing, baseball, while I got Net Nanny on my computer (Jared had just got it all up and fixed after it being broken for 4 weeks, so I had to get it reloaded). When I came back down we also played Mario Cart. Nate has gotten so much better then he used to. He can now drive his own car and make it all the way through the race. He usually takes 11th or last place, but he is getting so much better. He really enjoys playing it and Lego Star Wars. He can do most of that by himself too.

Well while we were playing before bed time I was folding some clothes when Nate, thinking he was funny, put a pair of his underwear on his head. He is such a clown. He keeps us laughing, or shaking our heads. Funny Boy.
Nate mom and I went to the Butterfly park on Thursday. It was a cool park and Nate and Miley had a good time. I really like the water parts of the park. It is a good way to cool Nate down. One of these times I'll get in there with him and take Miley, but this wasn't one of those times. Mom and Miley went for a stroll while Nate played in the water.

When Nate was done playing in the water we went for a walk with everyone and found out that we could walk over to another park, which is right by our library called the dinosaur park. We found a place to eat our lunch and sat and enjoyed. Grandma found a small bubble bottle, like the kind you have at weddings, and gave us a bubble show.

We played on the swings too.

We also went out and got Jared his fathers day present, we got him the EA Active game for the Wii and an extra band so I can work out with him. He has Friday off so I thought we could give it to him tonight so he could enjoy it over the weekend. Nate and Grandma tried it out after Jared and I did a little. Nate really likes it too.

Friday we had to go out and get our shopping done, so thanks Grandma for coming and helping. Grandma treated us to Cafe Rio food after we were done. So taste. Then we tried to go to the Spring Reserves, so I could show Mom and Jared where me and the kids had gone to play with the women and their kids in the ward a week or so before. We got there at a quarter to 6 and found out that they closed at 6. They did let us go in quick so I could show them the park area and a little of the park.

So since it closed so early we went over to the dinosaur park and played instead for a while.

Saturday we set the pool up in the back yard, it was so nice, it was so much warmer than it had been so the water was so nice. We all had a good time playing and cooling down.

You might wonder why this picture is here...well it is the only one of me while we were swimming...lol. We had a great time playing together. We are so glad Grandma came out to play with us.
