No Longer The California Demings?

That's right we are moving at the end of the Month to.....

Las Vegas baby!

Jared was offered the job on Friday and we accepted it happily. We believe we will be moving sometime the last week of October. Many prayers and miracles have happened to bring us to this point. We know the Lords hand has been in every step so far and we thank Him. We have been truly blessed while living out here and are grateful to so many people. We will miss you all. But watch out Vegas here we come.

The Funny Things Our Kids Do

So, Nate loves helping me in all I do. When ever I vacuum he has to get out his lawn mower and follow me around the house. It is cute for the most part, until I run into him because he is behind me :). He is such a good boy.

Yesterday we were going through some of our things getting ready to move. Miley was asleep, which is the only time we can use the shredder, it scares her every time, so I asked Nate if he would shred some papers for us. Well he was doing a great job. We had 2 sacrament programs in the pile. Well one had the picture of Gordon B Hinckley, our Prophet, and the other was one of Jesus Christ. He took both of the programs and said something like, "Mommy we don't shred the Prophet, that would be bad...and not Jesus too." He is so sweet and so cute. He put them in a different pile and wouldn't shred them. Here is the picture of him with one of the programs.

Miley has been really into grabbing her toes. It is so cute. She thinks it is such an accomplishment. I love seeing her do it and every time I get the camera she stops doing it. Well the other day I came into the bedroom and lo and behold Jared was filming her doing it. I also got her licking Jared's shirt and chewing on his shoulder. Teething, what more can I say.

She also loves this talking/singing duck that Nate got when he was a baby.

Our Missionaries

We love having the Missionaries over for dinner, even if they do get Nate all riled up. I think it is because he loves having them over...hopefully he will do what they are doing and go on a mission too. Living here in Salinas we have had the opportunity to have them over once a month to feed and interact with. Elder Swallow, and Elder Loveday are our favorites so far since we have been out here. That could be due to their hard work for the Lord, or their sweet spirits, or maybe their fun loving personalities, or maybe because they have actually served in this area for longer than one transfer... I think it's E all of the above. Elder Swallow has been here for over 6 months and he is fun to have around a joy to have in our home and area. He always has something new to share or some crazy comment that makes you laugh or smile. Elder Loveday has been here for somewhere around 4 months and is more quiet yet also a joy. He completes and balances their companionship out. And when you get them both together you get fun, joy, hard work, compassion, and a spirit you love to be around. Well we took pictures of them last time they came and ate with us on the 24th of Sept for they might be transferred before we leave or we might move before they come again for dinner. Elder Swallow is the one with the non missionary hair.

Nate and his opinion on Spiked hair.

Here is Nate after I spiked his hair on 9-11. You see how sad he is. Its almost like I am torturing him. So today while we were getting ready to go to park day I asked Nate, "Can I please spike your hair Nate." And he looks at me with his beautiful brown eyes and says, "No, I don't like it spiked, I just like myself the way I am, Flat haired." I've never said he has flat hair...I always call him fluffy head when his hair gets to long, it never wants to lay down, but in his mind his hair is flat and that's the way he likes it. I'll keep trying to spike it, but I don't know if I'll ever get him to like it. In the car on the way to the park I asked him why he didn't like his hair spiked and he told me than it just freaks him out. So to resits the temptation to want to spike it I cut it today, then it is spiked and he doesn't even know it is. I win.

Miley is 4 months old!

Today Miley is 4 months old...which includes shots and a check up. She did so much better this time around at the doctors. She only really cried hard during the shots, one oral and 5 in her legs. I think she sort of knew what was going to happen when we got into the doctors office. Last time she was so social and happy with the doctor and then cried like we were killing her during the shots. Well this time she didn't smile at all at the doctor. Actually she kept sticking out her lower lip ready to cry it poked wrong or looked at funny. But she is growing great. She is now 14lbs 8oz and 25 1/2 inches long and growing perfectly. She is such a cutie. Nate was a very good boy too and followed instructions beautifully. I was glad of that. He can be such a good helper. At home after she talked to daddy and played with her bunny and was standing up and smiling, last time she slept right after and then cried if you moved her wrong or sometimes cried just to cry. So things are good and we are blessed for that. I'm sure Heavenly Father is helping her out too.
