Steph and Sydney Come out to Salinas

Stephanie and Sydney Metcalf came out here to visit us from Mesa Arizona. We had so much fun and it was so good to have them both here even if I couldn't do much at first. They flew into San Jose airport on Monday, but before I went up there to pick them up I had to go to the doctors. At the doctors I had a cyst removed from my inner lower thigh. Oh that was so fun too, let me tell you. The doctor numbed the area first and then had me watch him dig at my leg with scissors and tweezers till he got all of it our. He kept saying, "I want you to see this", and then he would dig harder at my leg while it was bleeding and oozing infection. I was almost going to pass out. The whole time I keep thinking a couple of things... like, I bet my leg really hurts when it is no longer numb, and OK you really want me to look I might pass out on you, and I hope I feel good enough to drive all the way to San Jose so I can pick up Steph and Sydney. Anyways enough about that fun subject. My leg is doing well now, I got my stitch out this Monday.

So after all of that I came home and got the kids, which Jared had been watching for me. And what a stud he is. I came home to both kids being dressed and ready to go. Nate had been feed and so had Miley and the diaper bag was already for me too. He is so good to me. He also saved me because by the time I got home I had to get on the road. Luckily all 3 car seats fit in the back of the car, thank heavens for that. Thankfully my diet Coke keep me awake and alert so I made it to the airport. Although when we got there the mean man, who was directing traffic, wouldn't let us park and wait for them to get in. He told me I had to just keep driving and make the airport loop over and over till they came out to the curb. They are doing a bunch of construction atm and it is a mess there at the airport. I was so happy when Steph called and told me they were on their way out to the curb. I was sort of glad the guy made us keep driving because I was hanging around the wrong terminal....lol. Silly me.

So Monday and Tuesday we hung out at the house letting my leg get somewhat better. Thanks Steph for putting up with us.

Wednesday a bunch of the women and kids in our ward get together for fun at the park. So we all packed up and went and had some fun. It was actually nice and warm, which doesn't happen much here. It was actually nice enough that I didn't have to stand in the sun to keep sort of warm. The kids had fun, and so did I, I hope Steph did too. Thursday I talked Steph into trying Rock band out....she loved it....I didn't see that happening. It was awesome. So while the kids were taking a nap we Rocked out. We made our own band and Steph played the guitar while I played the drums. I keep asking Steph if her fingers were tired, I wanted to give her an easy out if she wasn't having fun, but she was having fun. Yeah!!! Our Band was called, "Three kids later", Steph's toons name was Whitney and mine was Cami. Here are some pictures of us.

Jared played with us too on Friday night after the kids went to bed and then on Saturday too.

Ya I know he's Hot!

Friday my leg was feeling so much better so we actually went out to Monterey and went to the Aquarium with Heather and her kids...aka the Alcantaras. We had a blast. Thanks again Heather for the free tickets and your friendship, I'll miss you when you move :(. Well most of the pictures on the slide show are from the aquarium, and our picnic with the birds after. Sydney and Nate keep trying to chase them around, it was quite entertaining.

Saturday we went swimming in the pool and that was fun. Miley didn't really like it much, but she did only turn 3 months old that day so I guess I shouldn't think she would like being put into cold water. We made hamburgers on the grill for dinner and once the kids got to bed we rocked out again. Sadly for us Sunday morning I had to take our guests back to the airport so Justin could have his family back again. You lucky man. Take care of them they are truly one in a million. We had so much fun with you Steph and Sydney, thank you so much for coming out and playing with us. We miss you and hope to see you all soon, maybe in Vegas.

Miley & Nate and Us: August 11th-15th

Jared and Nate got this "It's a Girl!" balloon for Miley. It was waiting for us when we came home from the hospital, along with a dozen beautiful reddish pink roses for me, and it was so big and so cute, well I forgot to get a picture of it while it was floating, oops. Oh well, so I took this picture of Miley with it now so we can remember it and how big it was. Of course she has grown quite a bit since then. She is now in 3 to 6 month old clothes.
Miley loves it when daddy comes home. They are really cute together.

Of course Nate loves it too. Nate also really likes to have his little sister sit by him and watch cartoons. He is such a big helper too. He gets me diapers, takes the dirty ones to the diaper pail, he helps me put her binky in when she needs it, he helps me with the laundry, and in the car he talks to Miley and tries really hard to keep her happy. Shading her from the sun when it bugs her, putting her binky in and playing peek a boo, which she doesn't quite understand but just the attention he is giving her makes her happy.

Here is a picture of the cute doves we have around our house. We have been able to watch the two parents make a nest, take turns watching the egg, and now teaching there little kid to fly and eat. It is so cool to watch one of the many wonders our Heavenly Father has blessed us with in this life. I love the sound the Doves make, they help me to remember the temple, which helps me to remember the covenants I have made and how to be truly happy. It's funny that such a small thing as a bird and it's family can teach me so much about life, love, and peace.

Here is Nate and Miley again. In 8 days Miley will be 3 months old. She is growing so fast. Nate is now 48 lbs and 3 feet 11 inches tall, so I'd have to say both my kids are growing fast. I love them both so much. We are so blessed.
